This row of colorful homes is located on Dawson Street in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh. The University of Pittsburgh’s Cathedral of Learning towers in the background.
These reminded me of a Pittsburgh version of San Francisco’s “Painted Ladies” Victorian houses. I suppose that would make these the “Painted Babushkas”. It’s amazing how a splash of color can bring a structure to life and add character to a neighborhood.
