It’s nice to get to the beach early in the morning before the crowds of people arrive. Listening to the waves lapping against the shore while the seagulls call out to greet the new day. This scene may be found on many coastal communities where the promise of sun and relaxation welcomes visitors.

Once, earlier in my attempts to paint the morning scene at the beach I learned not to take too long while committing paint to canvas. As the sun rises the lighting on the beach and seascape changes rapidly. I wanted to hold onto a moment in time when I can still recall the smell of the salt in the air, a steady breeze caressing my face and sounds of the world turning slowly.
